I'm glad it worked for you.
Of course, the last 50 years of both biological research and statistics shows that the paradigm of "eat less, exercise more" only works for 2 small subsets of people:
1. People already within 10-20 pounds of their weight setpoint.
2. 10% of the general population looking to lose more than the 10-20 pounds around their weight setpoint.
One of the early mistakes in the 70's and 80's was that most "eat less, move more" research programs lasted 6 to 12 months. When research was extended to 24 months, it was seen that 90% of participants started gaining weight back to their original setpoint - even when the diet and exercise plan was maintained.
This is excluding the new research showing that calories is a terrible, inaccurate method of counting energy consumption and expenditure. Any two people, and in fact any single person at different points in the day, will absorb, burn and store dramatically different amounts of energy from an identical caloric intake (say, an apple.)
